Description
Although tall, blonde and beautiful, Nellie Walker, 22, is also self-centered and a bit of a snob. When a tragic event leaves Nellie alone in the world she returns to the little town of Sovereign, Maine-a place she's always hated-to pick up the pieces of her mother's life. Helping Nellie through this dark time is the compassionate country physician, Doctor Bart, 29, whose affection for Nellie has long been suspected (and promoted) by her mother, Maggie Walker, minister of the local church. But stiff-necked Nellie wants to choose her own partner and the mysterious stranger Walden, known locally as the "Mushroom Man," has piqued her interest. Who is this mysterious stranger? And why has his unorthodox view of land ownership created such a stir in Sovereign? The Minister's Daughter, Book 4 in Jennifer Wixson's Sovereign Series (a standalone novel) is filled with the stuff that makes Maine wonderful: hand-made quilts, forgotten history like mortgage buttons, Needhams (chocolates), old-fashioned roses and herbs, wildlife watching, and so much fabulous food you'll begin to wonder whether or not you can reach Sovereign in time for suppah.
